Site Update 4/17/13

Recently I started to hint of changes in the works. Well I am ready to announce a few of those Changes!

First off my step dad “Balding2soon” has recently joined the Souljahz 4 Christ Ministry, and as well joined Daily Aspects today as assistant editor. He will be writing guest posts here and there, as well post prayer request, and manage comments

That brings me to the next announcement Prayer souljahz was shut down a few months back because it was becoming time restraining to post the prayer requests and posts here at Daily Aspects, so after much prayer time and discussion I decided it would be best to add an email form so readers can submit their prayer request here at Daily Aspects which currently has over 300+ followers which will equal to a higher number of people praying compared to the following of Prayer Souljahz.

Speaking of followers Truly Daily Aspects wouldn’t be where is, if it wasn’t for God as well the community, so to show my respect for the Community I added the Community widget.

I hope you guys like the changes! also keep your eye open for more changes to come throughout the year!!!

Support Daily Aspects By Displaying the “new” button below on your site the image was configured to open in a new window or tab depending on the persons browsers settings. The reason I chose this option is because this way if a person chooses to click on the button then the person isn’t taken away from your site but instead are provided with a new window or tab that will display Daily Aspects site as well. If you would like to display the button below just hover the mouse over the source code and click on the “Copy To Clipboard” option or highlight the HTML code below then right-click and chose the “copy” option then afterwards paste the HTML code into a text widget and click save within the text widget.

There will be more button options in the near future! The red “new” overlay image will not display on the actual button.

Site Update December 2012

For a while now I’ve been looking for a theme that is minimal but yet elegant enough so that is not dreary looking. when Daily Aspects was first created it was meant to be an online Journal, and it still is in a way but with the twist of non journal entry’s as well. I’ve changed themes recently and I really like How the Runo Lite theme has a paper background it gives it that Journal feel, but most importantly the font is clean and readable.

The other thing I like about this theme is the comment section is clean and it brings the readers comments to the front and center verse being masked by color shading some of the WP.com themes have. As seen in the screen shot reference below you can get access to the comments directly from the top of the post as well on the Home page you can see how well the post was rated by the readers.

One thing I do dislike about the theme is Hyper links are the same color as the text the only difference is the broken line beneath the text. It’s not really a big deal. As you can see below from the reference screen shot what Hyper links will appear like on this site.

As for the rating system I encourage you as the reader to rate the post you read for two reasons. 1: By you as the reader taking the time to rate the post it will help me improve the posts here at D-A because I will be able to visually see what the D-A community is enjoying to read and what the Community isn’t enjoying. 2: By taking the time to rate the posts you will help the Community by letting them know what post you as the reader found worth the time to read. I have been blogging since 2005 and I have notice that when people show up to a site for the first time they are skeptic if any the posts are worth their time and people tend to gravitate to posts that have higher ratings, now I am not asking in any way to give each post a perfect 5 star rating because I would prefer to have the reader rate the post by how they truly felt the rating level should be instead of misleading others by inflating the ratings.

Another thing I would like to ask the D-A community is to share the posts you read this way the D-A postings can reach a higher audience, I truly believe God is calling me to write and it’s been a struggle since I took that overdose when I was teenager, I’ve told God more than once He has the wrong person and each and every time, He replies back nope I have the right person. The more I practice writing the more I am becoming restored I truly believe this because the more I trust the Lord the more the passion as well the knowledge I once had about writing is coming back slowly. So please share the posts I truly do want to spread the Word of God across the globe but I cannot do it with out the community because I can only share so far.

I would like to thank God first of all and last but surely not least in any way the Daily Aspects community you guy’s are awesome in so many ways God has truly blessed my heart by Him, placing you guy’s in my path. I would like to also thank the readers that have left steady comments you guy’s will never know how much the Holy Spirit used your comments to push me forward during my lowest points.

Many know  I recently went through some life trials and the Lord shared so much with me and I plan to share what the Holy Spirit Guides me to share, in hopes that it will draw others closer to God, because I once was a broken person with a harden heart that I though no one nor God, could ever penetrate through, I am living proof I was wrong and I challenged God and he took that challenge and showed me how much my heart needed is healing powers.

Because of the recent maturing I have endured the D-A blog is going through some changes to reflect that maturing for instance many would leave comments and I would allow self-doubt to keep me from commenting back because I felt like I had nothing intelligent to say back, but recently I started to try replying to as many comments as possible because the community comments is really the back bone of the D-A Community. I apologize if I came across rude or offended anyone for not replying I am going to try my best to reply to every comment for now on.

I have been working on a multi page post that I plan to break down into multiple posts and placing it under the Mini series Category as well I will be linking to them from the Mini Series Page, so please keep on the look out for them because the Holy Spirit has powerful stuff to share through my testimony.

Reason For Prayer Souljahz Site Overhaul

A while back I mention on the Daily Aspects Facebook Page that the Prayer Souljahz site was in need of a site overhaul and that it was going to be email form submission only for now and that I would add each email submission to the site manually, the reason for this is because of the following reason.

After I got the Prayer Souljahz site up and running with the p2 theme which would allow WP.com members the option to submit their own prayer request I realized that if someone chose to follow the Prayer Souljahz site through email, /WP.com reader, Facebook, / or Twitter, they wouldn’t receive an update because for the update to happen via those following options a site admin has to submit content to the site for the content ping to push out to the followers.

This was a crushing blow to my dream and desire to have the Prayer Souljahz site community driven right from the start of the site. God, has His, reasons why he is holding back the progression of the Souljahz 4 Christ Ministry at this point. I recently started to hand out donated Bibles with the following letter PDF to people that come across my path as well I ask them if I can pray for any concerns or needs.  (In Person) I also hand out business cards with an email to submit prayer request. All the in person prayer request as well are submitted to the Prayer Souljahz site as well.

So my hopes are between online and offline I can draw more people to the Pray Souljahz site so many others can pray for each other because prayer is important and powerful as well life changing!!! I would like to praise God, as well because I recently gained a Bible donation connection through my Bible study leader they’re picking up the first box of Bibles tomorrow.

After picking a new theme I decided I wanted a clean stream line theme with very little distraction so I chose the Fresh & Clean Theme screen shot below this way its more focus on the prayer and not the site itself. Continue Below →

I encourage you to follow the Prayer Souljahz site through the following options so you can be alerted about any new prayer submissions. The following options are: Daily Aspects Facebook page, Twitter @Daily_Aspects, WP.com Reader, or Email or the old fashion RSS feed.

Email options for non WP.com members can be found on the right bottom of the site as well the email widget on the right side bar. screen shot.

Right now the site is having a slow start and my hopes is that it will pick up as well I’m hoping to find volunteer prayer warriors I can add as editors so they can submit prayer requests they receive through their contacts and pray for others on the site as well. My final goal is to have self submission for everyone instead of email submissions I believe God, will guide me to the next level when His, timing is come upon to do so.

Quick site up date

I choose to activate the Mixfolio theme for Daily Aspects But there appears to be a possible theme bug because all of my replies are hidden on the post pages I have followed up with a bug report via the forums and I am waiting for a reply I have chosen to keep the theme active so staff can visit Daily Aspects and see if they experience the same issue I am experiencing. Once the issue becomes resolved I will update with the next post explaining the new theme features. I wanted to let everyone know I value your comments and I am not ignoring them.

Update 6/22/2012 Attention to all readers it appears all comments made from this point on are not displaying in the comment section I can see them via the dashboard so rest assured your comment is there if your one of the commenter’s that  left a comment since yesterday.

Update: 6/25/2012
The matter has been resolved the bug was do to some bad CSS code hanging around hiding the comments.

Sorry about the annoying bug, gang. All comments in Mixfolio should show up now. There was some bad CSS hanging around that was hiding the comments from view. That’s now been fixed!
